Throwback Thursday: Prince William and Catherine Middleton Wedding

On April 29, 2011 at Westminster Abbey in London, the world witnessed one of the most celebrated unions in (royalty) history: the marriage of Prince William to Catherine “Kate” Middleton.

I loved Kate’s wedding dress by Alexander McQueen. It’s elegantly simple, and of course, intricately designed with handmade lace appliques (my most fav wedding dress detail!).

I also found her choice of bouquet very stunning – very simple and meaningful.

“According to a statement released on the Official Royal Wedding Web site, the bouquet comprised of a shield-shaped wired bouquet of myrtle, lily-of-the-valley and hyacinth – the bouquet “draws on the traditions of flowers of significance for the Royal Family, the Middleton family and on the Language of Flowers”.  As a nod to her new husband, Middleton included ‘sweet William’ blooms. Keeping with royal tradition, stems from a myrtle planted by Queen Victoria in 1845 were also added.”
