Haute Couture Spring / Summer 2014: Elie Saab

Inspired by the masterful art of 19th century Dutch painter, Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema, the Spring/ Summer Couture 2014 Elie Saab collection features flowers and textures which the painter is known for. Full of detail-oriented pieces, each dress in this collection shines with flowing, delicately embroidered lace frocks that are superbly feminine and romantic. The combination of flower appliques and crystal embellishments is so captivating, it will fill your day with languid dreams of lush gardens and of sweet smelling roses.
Definitely wedding-worthy, here are my top favorites.

Bridal Spring 2014: Watters

wpid-wp-1392552287666.jpeg

What started out as a personal hand making of dresses for family and friends, now took a household name in the bridal dress industry. Vattana Watters has come a long way in establishing her presence in the bridal fashion scene and now offers luxurious designer bridal gowns (and more!) around the globe. Staying true to the Watters philosophy of “style with elegance”, their Spring 2014 collection is a picture of stylishly sensible, breezy, light gowns that are both romantic and elegant. Each dress has a character of its own and I especially love that blush tiered skirt paired with a crisp white blouse — if that is not outright brilliant, I don’t know what is.
I am quite in awe at how Watters can be both revealingly out-of-the-box while staying classically romantic. “Style with elegance”. It’s their passion and philisophy. See it unravel here.

The 1800’S VICTORIANA

Queen Victoria was known as the revolutionary in popularizing the white wedding dress, but her daughter Princess Alice bucked her mother’s ideal and wore a blush gown for her own wedding in the Mid-Nineteenth Century. This striking blush ball gown swathed with a romantic off the shoulder neckline is inspired by the Princess’ bold choice.
